FIDUN was engaged by the MFESB Board between 2010 and 2014 as the Strategic Advisor for the project. Embedded within the MFB's internal Project Team for the entire period of the project, FIDUN assisted with every aspect of the briefing, planning, design and delivery of the MFB's new world class Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre located in Craigieburn, Victoria.
FIDUN's services included assisting the MFB with:
- critical analysis of the risks associated with the initial Business Case and implementation of measures to address,
- Consideration of procurement options and the development of the project's delivery strategy,
- Development of the organisation's Needs Identification and Analysis document that defined the strategic, functional and aspirational requirements to be met by the project and informed the development of the detailed design brief,
- Acting as the MFB'ss key point of interface with the Project Manager, Major Projects Victoria and the wider Project Team on all project matters,
- Providing oversight of the development of all consultant briefs, consultant agreements and the appointment of the project consultant team,
- Supporting internal counsel and external legal advisors in the briefing, drafting and negotiation of the construction contract,
- Development of the stakeholder identification and user group engagement strategy and implementation,
- Establishing and management of financial procedures and reporting,
- Management and implementation of a project communications strategy, Consideration of key risks and strategies to mitigate and
- Establishing and implementing project reporting procedures and reports including for the Board.
